18 participants of the one-year internship program in the State Audit Office (SAO) will be employed in the various audit departments.
The paid internship programme has been implemented for the second time in the SAO. For the internship, a special commission selected 20 young individuals through a competition process. The duration of the internship was defined from 6 to 12 months.
The internship programme included an intensive training course prepared by the Public Audit Institute, after which the auditor-interns were transferred to different audit departments and gained practical experience along with theoretical knowledge. After a one-year internship, the candidates with the best evaluation have been granted the opportunity to be employed as an assistant-auditor from May 1.
Special certificates have been awarded to the participants of the programme. Auditor General, Irakli Mekvabishvili congratulated the program participants on the successful completion of the internship and was interested in the involvement of young individuals in audit procedures during the internship.
According to the Auditor General, the new and motivated staff is the most important factor to strengthen the institution and with this, the SAO is constantly seeking to attract highly qualified staff and ensure their development.
The internship programme has been implemented for the second time in the SAO. At the end of 2019, 15 interns from the first stream became employees of the institution.
