The Sports and Youth Issues Committee of the Parliament reviewed the audit reports conducted by the State Audit Office (SAO) in the field of sports in recent years.
Representatives of various departments of the SAO presented several thematic reports to the committee members. From the audit reports of the Sports Federations, the MPs were introduced to the systemic shortcomings that were characteristic for the work of the federations, including the reports of the football, rugby, basketball, chess, Georgian wrestling federations. Along with the findings, the auditors discussed the issued recommendations and their implementation status.
The members of the Sports Committee were also interested in the performance audit reports and the findings reflected within them. The auditors presented reports of “Performance Audit on Sports Infrastructure Management“ and “Performance Audit on Mass Sports Development“. In addition, the auditors answered the questions of the committee members thoroughly.
Representatives of the Sports and Youth Issues Committee expressed a desire to continue cooperation with the audit team and to explore in detail all thematic reports in the format of the committee hearing.
