A meeting of International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) working group was held in Tbilisi.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of Georgia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan within the framework of the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI).
Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili presented the results of the self-assessment conducted at the State Audit Office within the framework of Strategy, Performance Measurement and Reporting Program (SPMR) and the strategy developed based on it. The parties also discussed areas of future cooperation.
The purpose of the IDI's Strategy, Performance Measurement and Reporting Program (SPMR) is to enable the SAIs to evaluate their own performance through Performance Measurement Framework (PMF) system and outline a future action strategy to enhance effectiveness.
The participants of the working group were addressed by the Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili and the Deputy Director General of INTOSAI IDI Ola Hoem.
Irakli Mekvabishvili welcomed the support of IDI's program, which aims to support SAIs in identifying institutional capacity building needs and in planning effective strategic management.
The Auditor General noted that the State Audit Office has been actively using the PMF since 2017 for internal evaluation of the Office's performance in both strategic and operational planning. Irakli Mekvabishvili presented the achievements in the field of institutional development of the State Audit Office.
The IDI`s Strategy, Performance Measurement and Reporting Program (SPMR) includes up to 15 INTOSAI member SAIs.
The working group meetings are held periodically in INTOSAI member states, where SAIs present SAI PMF report and plan new strategies for establishing high quality strategic and operational planning, monitoring and reporting activities.
