The Mission of International Monetary Fund (IMF) at the State Audit Office 26 February, 2019

The mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) held a workshop at the State Audit Office. The aim of the meeting was to get familiar with the current economic and fiscal policy in Georgia.

At the meeting with the Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili, the Head of the Mission Mercedes Vera-Martin expressed her interest in the recommendations issued by the State Audit Office regarding fiscal policy and the SAO’s findings about the draft law of State Budget.

Members of the mission received information regarding the fiscal rules and recommendations issued by the SAO, ongoing reforms of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and other important issues of public finance management.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of International Monetary Fund Klaus Helwig and Nia Sharashidze, as well as Deputy Auditor General Eka Ghazadze and Head of the State Budget and Strategic Analysis Department Tsotne Karkashadze.
