General State Services Audit Department

The audit activity of the department covers the costs incurred by the executive and legislative authorities in providing representation.

In addition, the department provides audits of the country's main financial and foreign policy institutions - the Ministry of Finance, the Treasury Service, the Revenue Service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic institutions and other agencies.

The department prepares financial, compliance and performance audit reports, develops recommendations to improve internal control mechanisms and prevent shortcomings. It also monitors the state of implementation of the issued recommendations.

Giorgi Kekelishvili joined the State Audit Office team in 2010. He has been in charge of the General State Services Audit Department since May 2018. In 2012-2018, he held the position of deputy head of Economic Activities Audit Department. In parallel, he headed the Audit and Service Development Division at the LEPL Public Audit Institute. In 2010-2012, he worked as an auditor. During his work at the State Audit Office, he developed an electronic risk management system. Prior to joining the State Audit Office, he worked as an auditor at BDO in 2007-2010. In 2006-2007, he was Marketing Manager of JSC Corporation Kindzmarauli. Giorgi Kekelishvili is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). In 2016, George received his master's degree in agronomy from the Agrarian University of Georgia. In 2008, he has completed his studies in accounting, auditing, specializing in analysis at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. He speaks English and Italian besides native Georgian.
